Cranberry Sauce is a Thanksgiving staple! It goes great with leftover turkey too!
I have to admit I’ve never liked the canned cranberry sauce… gag.
BUT I love homemade cranberry sauce!!
This cranberry sauce is good enough to eat by it’s self, ha!
In fact, my little kiddos could not get enough of it. That was a big deal because usually I cannot force them to eat it!
Yay me!
And this recipe is an FP for my Trim Healthy Mama friends!
It uses just a few ingredients and if you don’t have the Just Gelatin from the Trim Healthy Mama Store or the THM Gentle Sweet, here is my affiliate link to the Trim Healthy Mama store!
And how pretty is this cranberry sauce!? I love pretty food!!

Yay! I just found 2 bags of cranberries on my fridge and was wanting to try a THM version of cranberry sauce. I’ll be trying this one as soon as my Gentle Sweet comes in 🙂
Is orange flavoring different than extract? I just have Watkins orange extract.
Sarah says
Hmm… I am not too sure. But I think it should be fine with same amounts of either! 🙂

Thank you! I have been searching for a good THM approved cranberry sauce. And, since it uses a half bag of cranberries, I am going to make a trial recipe this weekend before making it for Thanksgiving. It looks so delicious!
Sarah says
Yay!!! 🙂
Mary says
This looks great! Not sure what you mean by 1/2 nutmeg though. Can you clarify? Thanks!
Sarah says
haha, I will fix that! 🙂

I’ve been looking for a THM cranberry sauce! If I want more of a whole cranberry sauce (not gelled), I assume I can just skip the gelatin and not mold it? Or do you have a separate recipe for whole cranberry sauce?
Thanks!
Sarah says
Yes, I like a more whole cranberry sauce too! I make mine by just simmering a whole bag of cranberries with some water… about a cup. Add about 1/2 cup to 3/4 cup of Gentle Sweet and orange flavoring or extract with vanilla and cinnamon and nutmeg!! 🙂

Thank you for the yummy looking recipe. Do you know how leftovers hold up? And could I make this a few days ahead with no trouble?
Sarah says
Mine was good for several days in the icebox (fridge)! I just covered with foil!

I made this today. It tastes delicious! But it didn’t set at all. I used THM just gelatin. So now I have a strong cranberry drink with cranberry lumps of goodness? Any ideas? I did 2 cups of water in the part simmering. And I simmered for over 30 minutes. I used 1 cup of water with the 1 1/2 Tbsp of gelatin. That doesn’t seem like a lot of gelatin. Is that correct?
Sarah says
Oh gosh.. that should have worked. Hmmm… and you placed it in the fridge? I would say maybe add more gelatin and mix it all together again and let it sit again.
Liz says
do you think I could get away with using 1/2 cup Pyure as the sweetener? 3/4 cup sure seems like a lot of (expensive) sweetener. Thanks!
Sarah says
Yes, you could do that!

Bravo! Another delicious dish! Just made it tonight. It satisfies a craving I have this time of year. I used to make croissant sandwiches filled with chicken/turkey, cream cheese, cranberry sauce and orange marmalade. This has a similar flavor to the cranberry sauce and orange marmalade together. So now all I need to do is find a type of bread similar to a croissant. (S) if I’m using cream cheese or it could be (E) if I don’t. Right?
Sarah says
Right, because the Sauce is an FP! 🙂

I made this Cranberry Sauce for one of our THM sides for Thanksgiving! LOVED it! Especially with the orange in it. Mine set up really well, in fact, it was more like cranberry Jello haha. Will be making this recipe again. Probably halfing it for us since it’s just my Mom & I who do THM in our house. We had leftover of it coming out of ears after Thanksgiving which was okay with all the Thanksgiving goodies to go with it but I now know that half a recipe is the perfect amount for us 🙂
P.S. I used my homemade Truvia and it came out perfectly
Sarah says
Awesome!! 🙂

Thank you for sharing this recipe! I had written “cranberry sauce” on my grocery list, and then thought to check for a THM-friendly recipe. 🙂 Yours was easy and I can’t wait to taste it!
Amy says
Do you know how much this would take of Super Sweet? I don’t have the Gentle Sweet at the moment…
Sarah says
I would do 1/3 of what the recipe calls for.
Laura says
Could I blend up the cranberries – would it make it more like the canned cranberry sauce?
Sarah says
I think so!!
