I know a lot of ladies are used to having their coffee or tea with flavored creamer and giving it up was a hard thing to do for a Trim Healthy Mama… BUT you don’t have to give it up!! In fact, it’s so super easy to make your own!!! Not only is it easy but the ingredients are simple, without all the junk we don’t need in it!!
Homemade just tastes so much better anyway! This is something I have learned, especially while doing Trim Healthy Mama, homemade is the way to go! You don’t have to make things from scratch but most of the time it’s not much more effort put forth to make it at home!
For this homemade creamer you have basically have three or four ingredients. How simple is that! Make sure you are using good quality flavorings! Here is an affiliate link to a great vanilla:Rodelle Pure Vanilla Extract, 8-Ounce
There are so many wonderful options to play with… chocolate peppermint, salted caramel, white chocolate, vanilla hazelnut, coconut, etc etc. Try it out! Also, go check out this store.. (I’m not an affiliate with them but I have, use and love their flavors! Bakto Flavors or you can try a six sample set from my affiliate link at Amazon:Bakto Flavors – Natural Flavors & Extracts – PICK YOUR OWN FLAVORS – Box of 6
Also, a friend of mine (Michele Miller) reminded me, that if you are an essential oil user (Good Quality that is digestible only) and feel comfortable using it in your creamer, you can add a drop or two of essential oil to great awesome flavor that way.
And just store in a glass jar or container, keep in the fridge, and it should last at least a week or two or however long it takes to drink it up!! Note** this is figured for 8 servings… so 2 tbps of either heavy whip (for an S) or half & half (for an E) will fit into your Trim Healthy Mama plan! You can do this with coconut milk or almond milk as well if you have a dairy allergy. Really the options are endless!!
Now tell me… do you take your tea or your coffee with cream?

An easy homemade flavored creamer with out all the extra ingredients you don’t need! Perfect for a THMer!

- 1 cup of heavy whipping cream or half & half (2 tbsp. should be a serving size)

I love cream in my coffee and in my tea… I think that’s one of my biggest battles… limiting how many cups I can have 🙂
Sarah says
Hahah … I understand this!!
K-Lee says
How would you make French vanilla coffee dreamer?
Sarah says
I would add extra vanilla… a good quality!! 🙂
SallyJoJo says
My Bakto 6 pack is on the way! 🙂 Can’t wait to start this, I ordered Almond -Cherry – Chocolate – Hazelnut -Raspberry – Vanilla !!
Sarah says
Yay exciting!!! I was so excited to get my pack from them!
Kate says
This sounds great as an alternative to plain cream. Can you also tell me anything about that darling narrow glass container that the cream is in, is it something you purchased or vintage?
Sarah says
hmmm, I believe I found that at ROSS! I love that store!!
Paula Horton says
Do you have a recipe for making a THM “powdered” creamer for coffee? My husband needs it for work. He has to keep it in his desk drawer. Thanks.
Sarah says
hmm, I don’t but now I want to try and make one! Thanks for the inspiration to create one!!
Teresa says
You could try confection Swerve.
Megan says
Can you tell me how I would make this with coconut milk? I have 4 cans that I bought to make creamer with…and I’ve lost the recipe! Thanks!
Sarah says
I would put the cans into a glass container. Then add the flavoring that you want and if you want to add sweetener. I would treat it just like the creamer in my recipe! That should work! 🙂
Mandy says
If I used Almond Milk, that would make it a FP, right?
Sarah says
Yes, ma’am!
Mandy says
Awesome!!! Thanks!!! I am fairly new to this, so I am double checking everything. 🙂
SallyJoJo says
Love, this recipe, I use it all the time. But, if you think you’re going to make a larger batch of this. . . once you add the flavoring to the half and half, it doesn’t last more than a week. I found this out the hard way when I ended up with cottage cheese!! Don’t be like me. . . make it in small batches 🙂
Sarah says
Ah, good to know!! Thank you!! 🙂
Tina Marmolejo says
I am a coffee drinker, an all day kinda coffee drinking gal :). I’m learning how to limit myself to just a few cups in the morning. I use half & half as my creamer but that only allows me to have an S breakfast. I’ve tried using Almond Milk but I just can’t stand that in my coffee. Would the taste be masked with the flavorings to make it an FP or E for my E breakfasts? Or do you have a good tasting creamer that’s an E? Thank you. 🙂
Sarah says
You can use 2 tbsp. of half and half in an E meals and be fine!! When I found that out I was sooooo happy!! I love cream in my coffee!
Tina Marmolejo says
Thank you! 🙂 I love my coffee!
Rachel Sanders says
I made this for the first time today and the actual creamer was delicious. I added caramel extract. But even with the sweetner, once it was in my coffee, it didn’t taste very sweet. I used to use flavored creamer all the time…so maybe that’s why. I just miss my coffee with a creamy sweet flavored creamer.
Sarah says
If you are used to it being sweet definitely add as much sweetener as you need personally! I also add more because I like mine sweet!!
Laurie says
Rachel..I use caramel as well and also missed my sweet creamer so I now add a bit of English toffee stevia drops to my jar of creamer…yummy!
Sarah says
That sounds perfect!
Angie says
So many t doesn’t have to be low fat 1/2 & 1/2 for an E? Or is that only for a FP?
Sarah says
Nope you can use the full Half and Half no fat free. Two tbsp. is like 3 grams of fat so that fits in both E & FP! 🙂
Stephanie Flohr says
What sre the various types of sweetners you can use.
Sarah says
I use the THM Gentle Sweet with is a mixture of Stevia, Xylitol and Erythitol. Those are the sweeteners that are mostly used on the Trim Healthy Mama Plan.
Courtney says
My husband basically has to have hazelnut creamer in his coffee, been looking for a way to make it THM style – thanks for the recipe!
I’d love to know where you got your adorable glass bottle too. 🙂
Sarah says
I THINK I got it at Target a while back! It’s so cute! Another place to try would be my most favorite store ever… World Market!
Tami says
Hi, I am just now seeing this recipe for creamer on your blog. I always used Irish Cream creamer in my coffee. It was sweet enough that I didn’t need to add sugar. I have since started using heavy whipping cream and adding my sweetener, which is usually either trivia or pyrue. I am curious about the brand of the Nella you put in the recipe. Do you use Clear or Dark pure Danncy Mexican Vanilla? Thanks for letting me know.
Terrri says
I know you haven’t received an answer… I use the dark pure Mexican vanilla… Danny’s!!♡♡ INCREDIBLE!!!!!!!!
Sarah says
YAY!!!
Sheretta Casey says
I am assuming this is an S ? So I would need to have my cup with a meal or consider it a snack, then wait 3 hrs. before eating/drinking anything else? I tend to sip my coffee throughout the day
Sarah says
Yes, exactly!
Autumn says
Fun! I’ve gotten use to plain half and half or just black but I do miss my caramel Macchiato creamer. I may try this tomorrow!
Nikki says
Thanks for this recipe. I am starting Keto with my husband and I needed a heavy cream coffee creamer recipe. For my extra extracts I plan to use this yummy coconut extract I just bought.
Carrie says
I am trying to eliminate sugars and sweeteners from my diet. This looks like a good recipe. All the others added maple syrup or used sweetened condensed milk which added sugar. Do you have nutritional facts on this?
Sarah says
No I don’t but it shouldn’t be anything but the “milk” depending on what milk you use. The sweetener/flavorings don’t have any carbs I believe or very very very little.
